Our Editorial & Review Process
Dr. Home Finance helps doctors and medical professionals research physician mortgage programs and match with the banks that offer them. Because a home loan is one of the biggest financial decisions you'll make, we hold our content to a high standard for accuracy, clarity, and independence. This page explains how we create, review, and maintain it.

We are a research and matching service — not a lender
Dr. Home Finance is not a lender, mortgage broker, or financial advisor. We do not originate loans, set rates, or approve applications. The rates, limits, and terms we describe come from third-party banks and are subject to each lender's approval. We help you compare programs and connect with a banker at no cost — and we never steer you toward a specific lender for our benefit. All housing information is provided on an Equal Housing Opportunity basis.
Who creates our content
Our guides are written by the Dr. Home Finance editorial team, who specialize in the physician home-buying market — how doctor loans differ from conventional mortgages, how student debt and employment contracts are treated, and how the process differs by state.

Who reviews our content
Our mortgage content is reviewed by Jessica Hegge, Partner at Dr. Home Finance and a licensed Realtor in North Carolina, who works directly with physician buyers and the bankers who serve them. Reviewers check each guide for accuracy, balance, and compliance before it's published, and confirm that any program specifics are attributed to the lender that offers them.
How we research and source information
Program details — eligible degrees, down-payment options, PMI treatment, and contract-based qualification — come from the lenders themselves and are confirmed with the bankers in our network. Local guidance, such as major metros, medical employers, and cost-of-living context, is drawn from public, verifiable sources. We attribute rate and term specifics to the bank or banker that offers them (including the banker's NMLS where applicable), and we never invent figures. When a lender changes a program, we update the affected pages.

How often we update
Lender programs and housing markets change, so we review our core guides and state pages on a recurring schedule and after any material change. Each guide shows the date it was last reviewed, and significant updates are recorded in the page's history.

How we make money
Dr. Home Finance is free for doctors to use. We may be compensated by lenders in our network when we connect you with a banker. That compensation never changes the guidance we give, the information we show, or the order in which we present your options — we don't sell placement, and we don't steer you toward a specific lender for our benefit. Our only job is to help you compare programs and choose the one that fits you.
